How does Broadband Work?
To put it simply: broadband is a very fast internet connection – much faster than the traditional dial-up internet access. The technology used for Broadband may seem mind boggling, but is actually very easy to understand. Broadband is supplied via higher bandwidth – we can compare this to a water pipe carrying water round your house. The wider the pipe the faster the water will flow. Broadband works in the same way, carrying more data at a faster speed. With a high bandwidth connection Broadband is able to download files in seconds rather than minutes or even hours that an old-fashioned modem would have done.
There are four main types of Broadband connection available:

ADSL BROADBAND

As it's name says this requires a special cable connection to be installed into your home. WIRELESS BROADBAND

SATELLITE BROADBAND

What can I do with Broadband?
Broadband offers the same facilities as a standard dial-up connection, only you can get all the information your require faster using your Broadband connection.
